Imperial County Board of Supervisors

Once again, in Imperial County, which is the undisputed off-highway recreation capital of the world, we are looking forward to the start of another dune season. The Imperial County Board of Supervisors want to wish all of you a safe and happy experience during the upcoming season.

Imperial County is pleased to partner with OHV groups such as the UDG, American Sand Association; CORVA; and the American Motorcyclist Association to engage in environmental projects and desert cleanups.

As always, we continue to be faced with challenges as this season gets underway. The Imperial Sand Dunes Recreation Area is still facing litigation on the Pierson’s Milk Vetch closure, and we are still unsure as to what the level of grant funding for law enforcement and operations will be available from the State OHV Program.

Whatever the outcome of these and other challenges, Imperial County will continue to lay out the welcome mat for the law-abiding, family-oriented, off-highway recreation visitors that come to enjoy our unique sand dunes and our perfect winter climate.

Enjoy yourselves, keep the dunes clean, and be safe.
